about

Formed in 2002, Tokyo’s pop-punk band For A Reason, heavily influenced by 90’s US pop-punk and emo, have established their reputation in the scene with their intricate and dramatic music built with emotional melodies, heartfelt guitar riffs, and fast driving punk beats. Holding “You're Not Alone” as their slogan, they have continued to play shows with non-stop sing-alongs and stage dives, and have been consistent with this style even in bigger stages like the Makuhari Messe. They have toured/shared stages with bands like H2O, Title Fight, Set Your Goals, Strike Anywhere, and Starmarket, and their friendship goes beyond the sea as can be seen with guest vocals from members of Shook Ones, Carpathian and Title Fight in their past records. In 2019, they organized their own DIY festival “True Friends” at Trinity Skate Park in Ukima-funado, which differentiated itself from many of the more commercial-oriented festivals by having no stages, fences, or security, and revived the world of 90’s US hardcore/punk DIY shows.
