Fly Honey Warehouse are a Psychedelic Rock band from Bristol, UK, formed in late 2008 by frontman/guitarist Michael Payne, bassist Luke Ford and drummer Chris Tothill. From the start, they began to write their own original material. After a few low key gigs, they began work on recording an EP at Orange St. studios, for free as part of a volunteer scheme. However, these sessions were abandoned, with only a version of "Pick Me Up (To Go, Please)" finished to a satisfactory standard. In the spring of 2009, the band played a local showcase for a promoter at The Cooler in their hometown. It was at this gig that they first encountered guitarist George Godwin (then with local indie band 'The Fyxx' who headlined the night) and sound engineer Joe Garcia. The band continued to write during this time, however with their sound still evolving, much material was abandoned. Over that summer, the band were approached by George Godwin, tired of the generic music of his then current band, and asked if he could join. He attended the bands first headline show at The Louisiana, and after meeting the band and attending a rehearsal the following week, he became an official member of the band, subsequently leaving 'The Fyxx'. In November 2009, the newly forged quartet returned to the studio with Joe Garcia, where over the space of two days, they recorded and mixed their debut EP, Fly Honey Warehouse (To Go, Please) at State Of Art in Bristol.
