Flicks originally started as a 3 piece Pop/Rock Band from Brisbane, Australia, which formed in late 2007. They worked hard writing and crafting their live performance playing 100 school shows over the next 2 years. In 2009 Flicks commenced writing their first radio single Hayley, which was inspired by the lead singer of Paramore and all-around-hottie, Hayley Williams. Produced by Todd Morse (H20, The Offspring, Juliette Lewis) it was recorded at the Grove Studios in Gosford, Australia and was handed personally by the band to Hayley’s boyfriend Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory (who took it with no jealousy or animosity). In 2010, Flicks recruited a new band member adding a slightly meatier sound with rhythm guitar/synth/gameboy and backing vocals. Flicks started the year with an extensive tour of Queensland with Short Stack and then headed south to NSW and Victoria for shows with Amy Meredith and Tonight Alive. They recently completed their own 3-week headlining tour of Regional Qld in June. Having returned from touring, the band signed a record deal with Spitfire/Difrnt Records and filmed a video clip for their first single. “Hayley” has a unique sound that consists of fun energetic Pop/Rock and euphoric electronic riffs that sets Flicks aside from other bands. With Hugh Wheeler on drums, Adam Milad on guitar/lead vocals, Michael Thomas on bass/vocals and Andy Francis on guitar/synth/gameboy/backing vocals – Flicks are an upcoming band with their sights set on an internatio
