Flesh & Bones was a Belgian dance project created by producer Regi Penxten, known for his work with Milk Inc., Sylver and other acts, together with DJ Wout, resident DJ at club Illusion. The two had already collaborated on Sylver’s hit “Turn the Tide” before deciding to launch a new project independent of their existing commitments under Art-Group Music. What started as a follow-up idea for another act evolved into Flesh & Bones, and their first single took shape when Birgit Casteleyn approached DJ Wout in club Illusion asking if he needed a singer. After a successful test, she became the voice of the debut track despite being new to the music world and still in school. Their debut, “Rigor Mortis (I Love You),” was released in March 2002 and became a major success in Belgium, holding the number one spot on the dance charts for four weeks and reaching number nine on the Ultratop Singles for the same duration. The track gained interest abroad and was signed in Germany, Spain, Australia, and considered in the UK, where the title was changed to “I Love You” for a less provocative presentation and accompanied by new remixes. In August 2002 the lineup changed: original members Dave, Joost, and Birgit left due to the difficulty of balancing the project with their personal schedules, and were replaced by Coca and Dominique. The second single, “My Time Has Come,” followed shortly after, released on August 8th, 2002. Key Releases Rigor Mortis (I Love You) – Radio Edit, Suicide Mix My
