There are at least six artists sharing the name of Flare: 1) Flare is a popular Croatian rock band, founded in 1998. by siblings Anđa Marić (lead vocal) and Jeronim Sabolcz (Jerko) Marić (guitar). 2) Flare are songwriter/vocalist LD Beghtol and multi-instrumentalist Charles Newman. Based in NYC they blend classic pop with experimental, classical, country music and noise. Flare have released two albums to date 'Bottom' & 'Hung'. Beghtol's vocals attracted the attention of Stephin Merritt (Magnetic Fields). Beghtol sings lead vocal on three of the tracks on the Magnetic Fields' 69 LOVE SONGS. In may 2005 Flare released their debut album 'In Search of Fame' in Norway. They have toured the UK four times and China once to fantastic feedback.
