An experimental studio band based out of new England, Five Dehydrated Pirates strives not just to be interesting, but also entertaining. The band draws from a wide range of genres without fitting neatly into any of them. One term FDP uses to describe themselves is cyborg-rock, the term coined by critic Simon Reynolds to mean, "not the wholehearted embrace of Techno's methodology, but some kind of interface between real time, hands-on playing and the use of digital effects and enhancement."
