Artist
This ska-core group emerging from Normal, Illinois at the turn of the century and played the local indy scene as long as the members remained local. Their intense music and fist-pumping stage antics created a high energy following, often headlining local shows. To add extra flavor to their rock and ska influences, First Grade Crush brought a theremin into many of their songs, creating a high, smooth voice against the edgy guitar and bright horn section. Releasing music through Jump-Up records, 1999 saw the release of their first album "It's Not You, It's Me", followed in 2002 by "Our Time Down Here". Lead singer Chris now plays in the band Hinter, of Chicago, Illinois, with drummer Neal MacCannell and guitar player/singer Matt Shaw.
