FIRE DEPARTMENT CLUB Tons of grooves, precise riffs and exquisite melodies make out Fire Department Club’s signature sound. Like spontaneous combustion, the foursome from Porto Alegre, Brazil, sets everything else you’ve ever heard on fire. Electronic beats and synthesizers, along with rock guitars showcase the band’s fearlessness and unique sound. Since their first EP, Colourise, released in 2011, Fire Department Club was embraced by the public. The album has traveled a long way to Los Angeles to grab the attention of Music Producer Luc Silveira. And together, along with Soma Studios the partnership evolved, taking the band on a new direction. In 2013 FDC’s singles, “Merry-Go-Round” and “Love Reconnected”, were released in over 130 countries through a partnership from Soma with Ditto Music (England), and were met with great enthusiasm by fans. Landing wonderful reviews from critics throughout the globe, earning the band a spot in the Top21 best new bands in Brazil. The band performed an acoustic set, recorded live in São Paulo, for the select “Club NME Sounds” alongside with only a few of the new generation in Brazilian Rock. The New York City based website, www.One41.tv, went further and described the band as “Brazil’s hidden jewel…”. FDC’s first video “Love Reconnected” was inspired by Disney’s Fantasia from 1940.
