Finnlay (also known as FDB) is a Brisbane-based Australian rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer, known for his emotionally-driven, experimental hip-hop and atmospheric production. Born in Sydney, Finnlay moved with his family to Brisbane as a child. He first recorded under the name FinnDaBin before shortening it to Finnlay, he still uses the tag "FDB" in his production work. He’s a founding member of the Central Gang collective. His early years in music saw him drop energetic, youthful rap mixtapes, but over time his sound evolved into darker, more introspective work. His production style is defined by layered textures, ambient moods, and a fusion of cloud rap, alternative hip-hop, and vaporwave influences.
