Artist
Finn Collinson (born 1 September 1998) is a British recorder player, multi-instrumentalist, folk musician and composer based in Suffolk. He is a founder member of recorder quartet Aurai. His debut album, “Call To Mind”, was released in 2019. Collinson completed his training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama (in London) in 2021, where he graduated with an additional Concert Recital Diploma. His classical training informs his performance and composition within his folk music specialism, in which he often uses fragments of historical music and collaborates with a range of different performers. He released "The Threshold" in 2022. His third album, Byway, was released in 2026. On the album he is joined once again by Archie Churchill-Moss on guitar (Seth Lakeman, Sam Sweeney) and Evan Carson on bodhran (Steve Knightley, Sam Kelly). Aside from his solo work, Collinson is a founder member of recorder quartet Aurai and is in demand as a ceilidh musician, notably with Stroma and Ceilidh Tree. A diverse performance career has seen Collinson play on the main stages of many of Britain’s biggest folk festivals, and venues ranging from tiny 50-capacity arts centres to the Royal Albert Hall. Finn performed in the orchestra for the English National Opera’s Olivier Award-winning production of Noye’s Fludde in July 2019.
