New kids on the block, Finger Tight are a 5-piece outfit from West Auckland that take you on a nostalgia trip to old school pop punk, but with a heavier twist. “Finger Tight are putting the New Zealand punk scene on the global map” (GigRadar.co.uk) by bringing tough themes packaged in some relentlessly catchy hooks, riffs that are surprisingly technical, and beats that you can't help but air-drum along to. Their sound has been described as “Pop-Punk with balls” (Kev Rowland, Muzic.net.nz) but that’s an idiom for their indecisiveness on how heavy they want to take their music. Drawing on inspiration from such a myriad of artists, Finger Tight don’t limit the genres that they pull their fans from. Their focus is simply to enjoy playing good music, and to give a memorable live experience - and they deliver. Their self-produced EP “Burst”, released in February 2021, was well received from people across generations and genres, as it covers a range of sounds under the punk/rock umbrella.
