FINAL GIRLS (New Jersey - USA) is a death metal band formed in 2020 by bassist Sofia Albanese and drummer Sofia DeMasi. The lineup is completed by guitarist Ashleigh Hernandez and vocalist Casey Cruz. 2025 to present In March 2025, the band began posting teaser posts on their stories, ahead of the release of their new single, "Axe Wound" - which would be the last official release from Final Girls. "Axe Wound" was released on March 25th, 2025. Three of the four band members are moving forward with a new band name, and the Final Girls name was officially retired several days later. 2024 to 2025 The band’s released the single, “Arachne” was released on July 9th, 2024 ahead of their the EP Prey on the Weak, released on August 9th, 2024. Early History 2020 to 2023 Formed in 2020, the band started gigging consistently in New Jersey in 2022. This early version of the band blended punk, hardcore, and other influences that would get phased out over time as they embraced their death metal influences. Their first single, an early version of the track "Population Control," was released on October 14, 2022. In early 2023, Em Terzano exited the band. New guitarist Ashleigh Hernandez was recruited shortly thereafter. Bryanna Mendez would also leave shortly after, and a string of shows in summer 2023 were played with guest vocalists, while the band held auditions for a new singer.
