Fighting at a College Level is the brainchild of Bismarck, North Dakota resident, Tyler Hartman. Since 2004, Tyler has been creating a new breed of acoustic punk rock, under this moniker. Raised on the blues and classic punk rock, Fighting at a College Level brings new emotion and technicality to a genre of music, which has been saturated with simplistic, self-indulgent artists for years. If your idea of good folk music is Secondhand Serenade and NeverShoutNever!, then this is not going to be your cup of tea. If you love screaming your lungs out at a punk rock show, with one fist in the air and the other holding onto a can of Pabst Blue Ribbon, then Fighting at a College Level is sure to be your new favorite artist. The new Fighting at a College Level EP, The Invitiation to Caligula picks up where the 2009 full lenth, The Sins We Speak, left off. The songs are bigger, catchier, and better than ever. Joining Tyler in the studio, once again, is producer Christopher Flitton, who added his own brand of sonic fury to this record. The pair have created the first full-band version of Fighting at a College Level, with Chris Flitton taking control of the drums and even some electric guitar. Tyler has also enlisted fellow musicians Scott Heidinger and Darrel G'Sell Jr. to join Tyler as the full-band version of Fighting at a College Level for live shows. 2009 has already shown us the new face of Fighting at a College Level...now be prepared for the takeover...
