Fiction is Fun is a 7 piece folk rock bluegrass pop group. They write about the wild west, adventurers, space travel, video games, heartbreak, friendship, discovery, death, science, and all things that are the best things. They cultivate an exciting, dancey, adventurous atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy. Fiction is Fun is "the best in Alt-Folk Adventurecore right now” from Denver, Colorado. They've been together since 2009, and although in the beginning they had a rotating line-up, they've since settled on the following: Frederick Thulson on cello & vocals, Caleb Hall on banjo & vocals, Connor Costello on mandolin & vocals, Kyle Bollacker on standup bass & vocals, Charlotte Rubald on violin & vocals, Brevon Good on drums, and Jacob Fairly on guitar. They also feature Frederick Kolouch on accordion & piano during tours and recording sessions. They draw influence from the intensity of Andrew Jackson Jihad, the earnesty of The Mountain Goats, the soul of Devil Makes Three, the romance of The Decemberists, & more.
