He continued music in Fort Wayne, Indiana (Bishop Luers High School) where he was a part of musicals, show choir, church choir and barbershop until he went to study Vocal Performance at the University of Michigan School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2006 Fernando moved out to the San Francisco Bay Area (Oakland) where he began working for the Pacific Boychoir Academy and began singing professionally. As a tenor he has sung for groups such as the San Francisco Symphony Chorus, Pacific Collegium, Volti, American Bach Soloist, and Clerestory. In 2007 he also had the privilege of premiering the role of Mr. Bingley, in Kirk Mechem’s opera, Pride and Prejudice, for the San Francisco Choral Society in Davies Symphony Hall. Other highlights include performing and touring with the three-time Grammy-Award-Winning, Pacific Boychoir through Denmark, Hungary, Brazil, Italy and Argentina.
