Chilean born Fernando Fuentes aka Cue Dj discovered his love for music at an early age. As the son of an wood carving artist, his first instrument was a drum set at the age of 14. Handcrafted by his father this drums gave Fernando not only the basic tool for playing music but also the knowledge that came in understanding where the quantum mechanics of sound and rhythm come from, marking the beginning of his musical evolution. With great inspiration Fernando honed his skills at the drums and by the age of twenty became an active drummer in the music scene in his native Santiago, Chile. His Percussionist gigs during the early nineties covered various styles of music, ranging from Andean folk to techno pop. Little did Fernando know how much this versatility would come into play very soon. By 1995, Fernando had moved to U.S.A. looking to enhance his frontiers. Miami offered him a mixture of languages, flavors and grooves and an emerging nightlife that transform to became the club capital in the U.S. It was not long until Fernando, now deemed CUE by the locals, traded his drums for turntables and develop a Disc Jockey career on the local Miami scene. Soon Cue started rotations in U.S. premier clubs. Most notable, his residencies at Blue, Nerve, Crobar, Space, Amika and Nikki Beach.
