Felicity Mangan is an Australian sound artist based in Berlin, Germany. She has developed her practice through frequent collaborations with dancers, visual artists as well as musicians, utilising digital composition techniques to explore field recordings and sampling from found sound archives. Through the deployment of custom-built amplification, Felicity presents her work in live performance and sound publications, to explore the physical sound qualities of field recording via hand-made speakers and contact speakers made from re-cycled and found objects. Touring extensively in USA, Europe and Australia she has worked in collaboration with Contemporary dancers Phoebe Robinson and Julia Robinson (Half Finished World, Melbourne, 2006), visual artists Amanda Marburg (Linden Contemporary Art Space, Melbourne 2006) Rebecca Ann Hobbs (Australian Centre for Photography, Melbourne, 2004) and as a member of the Function Ensemble (Secret Miracle Fountain, Locust Music).
