Fatemeh Dehghani (born February 13, 1996), is an Iranian musician, Oud player and composer. She graduated from Tehran Music School where she completed her Oud studies, then obtained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Iranian traditional music from the University of Tehran (Faculty of Fine Arts). Negar Bouban, Moaana Jehad, Mohammad Firoozi, Yurdal Tokcan, were among her professors in Oud playing, and she also learned The Radif of Iranian music from Dariush Talai and Dariush Pirniakan. During her academic studies, she benefited from the mentorship of notable music scholars including Khosrow Molana, Hooman Asadi, Azin Movahed, Sasan Fatemi, Kiawasch Sahebnassagh and Maryam Gharasoo. Fatemeh has performed as an Oud player in various albums and concerts both in Iran and internationally. In 2020, she composed and released her first album “The Spirit Afar”, in which the composition of the instruments consists of Oud, Kamancheh and Darbuka. Her ensemble, The Spirit Afar Trio performed under her direction at Expo 2020 Dubai. In 2021, Fatemeh participated as an Oud player in the National Orchestra of Iran, led by Bardia Kiaras and sung by Pouria Akhavas at Vahdat Hall. That same year, she appeared with Jiwar group in the documentary “Awazi Zahawy”, broadcast on Kurdistan TV, and a live interview on Rudaw Radio in Erbil.
