Artist
Fate's Palette is a dark chamber rock band from Minneapolis, MN. As much a conceptualization of art as it is a band, they strive to blend together many different ideas and mediums into a cohesive experience. Fate's Palette does not just write conceptual music but is itself a concept: taking static, yet moving images, and injecting a new life and purpose into them. A life that the original artists never envisioned, but pays homage to the masterful vision of those created works. Their debut album “Rule of Thirds” (self released) is a journey through that space, a concept built on the foundations laid down by master painters. Indeed, all of the songs on “Rule of Thirds” are grown from great works of visual art. The album plays like a walk through a gallery; the music paints the canvas with phonic brushstrokes. In forming the band, Fate's Palette set out to create something more than just another rock band. While they are still exploring where they fit into the musical world, they admire the way music interacts with other arts to create something larger, more complete. Compared to groups like Rachel's as much as Rasputina, their influences are diverse and derived from pop as well as classical structures. Take the sonic quirk of Andrew Bird with the sincerity of Amanda Palmer, and the eerie gloom of God Speed You Black Emperor! and you begin to paint the picture of Fate's Palette. Their music lends itself well to masquerades, gallery openings, burlesque, loungey venues, and
