Fatal Opera was a Technical Thrash/Speed Metal band from Florida, USA, formed in 1990 by ex-Megadeth drummer Gar Samuelson (1958-1999) and his brother Stew Samuelson (guitar). The band released many demos throughout 1990-1991. The most notable being their, "green tape". The green tape is also known as "Demo" and "Fatal Opera". Their last notable demo release was in 1994, Preproduction Dec. 1994. Preproduction was commonly referred to as the orange tape. Fatal Opera released three full-length albums in 1992 (self-titled), 1997 ("The Eleventh Hour"), and 2022 ("FATAL OPERA 3"). All albums and most demos were recorded in Gar's home studio, known as Headstone/Heavy Recorders in Orange City, Florida. Gar Samuelson died in 1999 because of a liver failure.
