New Jersey Hardcore 1995-1996 The name Fat Nuts came from the prank phone calls that preceded the band. It was a local thing and it's late now so I'm not going to get into the whole story. The band started when Seth and Shaggy got together to jam Cro-Mags, AF and SOIA covers. We got our good friend Chris Amend to play bass and it turned into the start of a trio that was in 4 bands together ("The In Search Of" lineup of One4One, Fat Nuts, Conspiracy and TKO). It was just for fun at first and it was just going to be funny. The old demos always came with the prank tapes on the end of them. After Seth left One4One in June of 1995, the band wrote some serious songs. We tried changing our name several times but the fans simply would not allow it. The band played only a handful of shows due to lack of a steady drummer. Seth played drums and sang on the recordings. After recording a demo and a 7 inch for Rick Ta Life's Back Ta Basics Records, ex-NJ Bloodline bassist J-Crime joined the band on guitar. Now the lineup was complete. This is the lineup that recorded 1996's legendary "Bloodsport" 7-inch. This was never released on CD. Fat Nuts was: Seth - drums and vocals Shaggy - guitar Chris Amend - bass J-Crime Demsack - guitar http://www.myspace.com/fatnutshc User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
