Farzad Milani was born in April 1983 in Tehran. He started learning music by playing Piano at the age of seven by himself and a while after continued by playing Accordion. He learned harmony and music theory with studying “Harmony by Walter Piston” and “Jazz Theory by Mark Levine” books. He was graduated in Atomic-Molecular Physics from Iran University of Science and Technology. While studying he was interested in the physics of music and the science of acoustics, thereafter started some researches and wrote some articles and his thesis in this field. He taught acoustic fundamentals at Iran’s House of Music later. His interest in Mugam (a traditional improvisational style of ancient Iran territory) musical tones persuaded him to focusing in Iranian, Armenian and Turkish traditional music and trying to combine them with more complex progressions.
