On the northeastern outskirts of Colorado Springs, Colorado lies Black Forest; a dense, sleepy borough of roughly thirteen thousand residents. Within Black Forest lie passageways and parklands winding throughout the countryside. At the end of an old dirt road, high atop a hill overlooking the vast Rocky Mountains, there sits a vintage wooden house. It was in this home that Justin Galloway began creating his own blend of indie rock music that would eventually come to be known as Far and Few. Fusing together elements from his greatest influences, Galloway sought to transcend the boundaries of any one specific genre, instead opting for an all-encompassing array of infectiously melodic narratives that would capture the hearts of his audience. Galloway is no stranger to music. A self-proclaimed ‘jack of all trades’, he began playing drums when he was eight years old. He spent his early years honing his skills as a competitive drummer, before picking up his first guitar in high school. Over the next few years, he expanded his instrumentation to include bass guitar, piano, and vocals. After high school, Galloway played with small local bands throughout Colorado Springs, working part-time jobs and taking classes at the local community college. Struggling to find a solid band – one whose desire to surpass the local market was always outweighed by “creative differences” – he turned to composing his own material.
