Hail this musical collective that has evolved over many years to become the entity that it is today - Far From the Dance. The 6 members, all in their early 20s, have grown up together since meeting as young teenagers in the late 90s and shared many musical and life experiences along the way. This brings an extraordinary chemistry to their sound and live performance. Far From The Dance have "an incredible talent for songwriting" (Leeds Music Scene) drawing influence from a massive melting pot of musical genres in order to create a unique sound that encapsulates the listener by creating an "intricate and intense mood" (Dissident Vox). Since the summer of 2003 FFTD began taking their "vibrant and intense" (Sabas.jud.as) live show to venues in their home country of West Yorkshire supporting acts such as The Subways, 65 Days of Static, The Longcut, This Et Al, Pure Reason Revolution and Million Dead as well as building up a dedicated local following. By the summer of 2005 the band felt their sound was ready for a bigger stage and relocated to their own studio on the East coast of Yorkshire in order to write and record some new material. Of the 20 plus tracks demoed the band painstaking decided on a 3-track self-titled EP which was released in March 2006 (available to buy on www.FarFromTheDance.com or to download).
