Fannius III is not one to play by the rules, when it comes to her career in the music industry, things are no different: Fannius (formerly fan_3) earned her first platinum record at age fifteen and signed her first major label record deal with Geffen Records at sixteen, and her second with Epic Records at eighteen. But, after five years in the business, making music for middle aged record executives, Fannius is finally free from corporate regulations and is releasing music her own way, and on her own terms. Her first project "Girlfriend (I Can)" is a catchy hook-ridden summer hit, which is destined to be on every pool-party playlist this summer. The video, shot, edited, and directed by amazingly talented film maker Kaylyn Thornal at the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend this year brings ‘summer loving’ into 2008 with a refreshing twist. “Girlfriend (I Can)” is officially the Club Skirts Dinah Shore Weekend theme song, and will be available on iTunes in the very near future.
