Fall from Zero arose from the ashes of post-apocalyptic Vancouver, Washington, among a handful of its charming suburban enclaves. From these smoldering remains, their forces combined into a band of such innovative, skilled efforts as to create the sound you may enjoy here. Zombies: Beware! Mutants: Half-price on admission charges and merch! In a sincere effort not to exaggerate the sheer prowess and megalithic, erectile stature of Fall from Zero, we now present to you the epic saga of how these übergods among übermen became an überband: The year 2010 dawned uneasily, yet hopeful, with several veteran bands of the local scene undergoing mid- to end of life crises. It would be a year of unprecedented turnover and re-shuffling of seasoned, determined musicians into new arrangements throughout the Portland/Vancouver metal scene. Some would say that the new bands created during this period were the best use of local talent, ever. People saying that were immediately executed; their severed heads displayed on pikes for amusement. “This is Metal, man! Don’t patronize us!” a member of the mob was heard to exclaim. It was, indeed, brutal. One particular decade-old band known as Excessive Moderation had sought within its unfortunate death-throes a second guitarist, an episode which allowed for the initial meeting between guitarist Shawn Hooghkirk and bassist Ian Wengs.
