Artist
J. Davis (Faith Massive) - Drum & Bass J.Davis is a man of many hats. Co-owner of Devout Artists Recording Group, producer, remixer, musician and founder of Drummers Against Drug Abuse. Joey was raised in a musical home; weaned on styles ranging from neo- jazz pioneers like Herbie Hancock and Stevie Wonder to prog-rock groups such as Yes and ELP. Being a drummer is what really opened his mind up to intricacies of latin and jazz-funk rhythms. All this education including his love of electronic music somehow finds it's way into Joey's music. ".....I have always mainly been a drummer at heart but i remember the night I fell in love with synths" says Joey. "My dad took us to see Emerson, Lake, and Palmer and Keith Emerson's monstrous hybrid Moog totally blew me away. Before the show started a promo video about The Art Of Noise was shown. I never imagined that a decade later I would be working on stuff with JJ Jeczalik of AON..." Joey's project with JJ was soon cut short as JJ was forced into retiring from the industry and closing hi Axiomattic imprint due to substantial hearing loss. Nevertheless Joey went on to produce tracks for labels such as Om Records, Cosmic Flux Musiq, Sony/550 Music, Nsoul, Warner/Sunburn along with remixes for artists such as Everything But the Girl, Amel Larrieux, and legendary jazz drummer Chico Hamilton. "J.Davis achieves a very unique, natural and balanced fusion of jazz and electronic elements that transcends the innumerable subgenres associate
