Recording artiste Fairuz Hussein is a familiar name in the Malaysian music industry.Even though she is an R&B artist but Jazz lovers nation wide including veteren Jazz singers such as Julie Sudiro and Zain Azman has accepted her as one of Malaysian's best Jazz singer.She had been invited to sing for mostly VVIPs for their exclusive functions and had done concerts for the public and has proved she is one of the most versatile artist locally and can be accepted by any walks of life. The talent of second daughter to award winning director/actor Hussein Abu Hassan and actress Mahyon Ismail was discovered by well known composer and producer Adnan Abu Hassan and later was offered to sign a recording contract with international label Sony(CBS) in 1988.Went on to do her first solo album in the same year. The first few tracks that was done was so promising that Sony decided to released it as the FIRST MALAYSIAN CD titled KALI PERTAMA (which had the privilige to collaborate with Indonesian producers ELFA SECIORA and HARRY SABAR.The album was released there in the same year by TEAM RECORDS)and was invited by Indonesian producer Harry Sabar to sing and shoot the videoclip for the theme song of a movie titled CATATAN SIBOY 2 which was a boxoffice hit in Indonesia followed by her second album titled FAIRUZ HUSSEIN in 1989 which Fairuz had the privilige to work with names such as James F.Sundah,Embong S , Zul Nadzar and Johan Nawawi just to name a few.
