Faire du Surf is an American indie-rock band with surf pop influences. Heavily influenced by artists such as Paul Simon and Brian Wilson, the band’s first EP, Turn to Dust, was independently released September 28, 2010 digitally. Its first show as a full band was played in August, 2010 at the Pop Culture Soda Shop in Vancouver, Washington. Started as an acoustic project with 17 year-old songwriter Griffin Taylor and high school friend Ian Cunningham in December, 2009, the band went electric in February, 2010 with the addition of bassist Brennan Jung. In August, 2010 they became the #1 Most Downloaded Song on PureVolume.com with over 45,000 downloads of their song "Lit Up" which was written by Griffin in in Junior High. The band has recently released a set of singles on their Facebook and Bandcamp pages that are currently unavailable for download but their EP Turn to Dust can be found on iTunes.
