Fahrstuhlambiente (which is German for "elevator ambiance") is a jazz collective of 5 young musicians from Mainz, Germany. The band was formed in 2004, when bassist Carsten Christman and pianist Timothy Schmele met the guitarist Lukas Bugiel for a jam session. Soon enough the drummer Jannik Dähn joined in with the rhythm section and lastly Christopher Busch filled the void as a frontman with his tenor and alto saxophones. From 2004 to 2007 they toured with two drummers having Benjamin Keuchel in the band as well, who left again though, because of conflicts in musical interest.
