Fabian Cooke (born 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica) is a reggae musician. Today he is based in California, United States. Cooke has been a part of the music industry from an early age. By the age of 10 he was already recording and performing for clubs and concerts in Jamaica. Fabian then pursued his studies in classical music as a teenager at the Jamaica School of Music. Upon moving to the United States in 1980, he established himself in the New York music scene for eight years prior to moving to Los Angeles. Not only is Fabian an acclaimed musician (endorsed as one of the top reggae bassists) but he has also established a diverse career as a songwriter, producer, and recording engineer. The diversity of Fabian’s career as a songwriter and producer can be witnessed in the variety of production/publishing companies which he has been associated with. Among these are Walt Disney Music, The Jackson Family, Faze-4-Entertainment, and The Groove Institutewhere he established a professional relationship with many notable performers. A significant member of the reggae scene, Fabian is known for his work on the Bob Marley album Soul Almighty and with Born Jamericans on Delicious Vinyl. Throughout his career, Fabian has worked for such record labels as Warner Bros., Sony Music, MCA, RCA, Interscope, East-West Records, Epic, Island Records, Jad Records, and Columbia, to name a few.
