At the dawn of a new millennium, four friends were raising their wrists as if they had crawled the Sahara desert for weeks. That very night the young men baptized themselves “The Dawsons”. In the first place this brotherhood only involved stronger friendship than ever (and loads of booze), but soon some sparks of music became involved. A few months later the first short but powerful songs greeted daylight, so a first live gig could not be avoided much longer. In the end of April 2007 they struck friend and foe with a daring, very short, but effective first gig. First strike is deadly, as they say, and so it was. As they had worked hard to let friends and relatives know what their brotherhood sounded like, that was their only objective. And when they least expected it, they miraculously won the Logical Choice 1st prize for the best beginning band, and the 1st prize for the best band. The shock and glory passed quickly, though. As the summer passed, they thought of nothing but music. Rewriting old songs, and constantly working out new riffs. Later on the band was renamed “Eye of Daw”, but in their hearts, the four musicians still are Dawsons. September passed, and a series of gigs were brought to a good end. Their reputation as a band was growing, so when the snow was filling the skies of early 2008, they hit the studio.
