Evil Idols

The Evil Idols was formed in 2000 by four bar flys who were tired about lack of real good bands at Curitiba's – Paraná, southern state of Brazil – rock 'n' roll scene. Felipe Sad, Dino Velvet, Tocha and Lucas "Piranha" Chavo decided to form a powerfull punk rock n' roll band with garage rock, 70's and 80's punk influences, fueled by liters and liters of alcohol. So they started writing a bunch of raw and straight uptempo punk rock'n'roll and soon they were playing all around the town! Their chaotic concerts took the attention of Mozine, Laja Records' boss, a well known independent brazillian record company specialized in raw, trashy, hard-to-the-core rock n roll; brazillian home for bands such as Mukeka di Rato, Toys that Kill (usa), Hellnation (usa), The Nerds (Italy), etc... In their first three years the band featured three releases under his label: 7 tunes on the split cd "Estudantes/Evil Idols" (2001) with Estudantes, from Rio de Janeiro; the compilation "Drunk Fools vs. True Till Deaths" (2002), with more 6 tracks and another split cd with Motosierra, from Uruguay - "Evil Idols/Motosierra" (2003) -, with 7 songs, including Infections' and Dead Boys' covers. On 2003, after touring some brasillian states with Motosierra and Odyssey (hardcore band from Curitiba) they stoped to record their first full-length, "Don't Mess with the Evil Idols", released in 2004 gettin great reviews from the local independent midia.
