Eve Hell and the Razors Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, located in the heart of the wild west, is a rugged, Ford F-150 type of town, where metal is played real mean, the country shit-kickin' and the boozin' ain't pretty. It’s a tough town with tough attitudes. A store clerk once refused to sell Eve a beat up '70s Fender bass for $150, explaining it was too cool of a deal to '”have it rot away in some chick's closet.” Getting a band together and finding gigs to play was just as frustrating. When Eve and Mike graduated from college with their music diplomas, they left town. In Calgary, the doors of opportunity swung open. After debuting with a short-lived psychobilly outfit called the KillBilles, Eve found an audience but needed a drummer. Enter Richie Ranchero, former bone-breaker with Huevos Rancheros. Over the past two years, Eve and the Razors have moved up the ranks as a stand out roots and rockabilly act in western Canada, leaving their mark at Viva Las Vegas, the ultimate rockabilly weekender. Driven by Richie’s barn-burnin’ backbeat, Mike’s swanky, Cadillac licks and Eve’s fiery vocals, the Razors roam freely moving from country swing to torch ballads to flat-out, hillbilly twisters. -- B.
