Erlend Viken comes from a known folk music family in Oppdal/Norway. He started playing fiddle when he was 6 years old, and his father, Erik Sverre, was his first teacher. Erlend also play hardingfiddle, and on this instrument he has specialized in traditional music from Valdres. Erlend has won several folk music competitions in Norway, with both fiddle and hardingfiddle.
