Artist
"Eric Séva was born in Paris in 1964 into a family of musicians. He was fifteen when he joined the family band, which enabled him to pay for his classical music studies at the teachers' training college in Paris. Ten years later, with a degree as a concert saxophone player and another dimploma in chamber music, Eric Séva joined various groups, notably the saxophone septet of Yochk'o Seffer. But he felt more and more attracted by jazz improvisation; things came to head when he met Dave Liebman in 1989 at a master-class; finally he took the plunge and moved over to jazz and improvised music. In February 1990 he went to New York to study with Liebman, then founded the trio "Yes Yes Yes" on his return, leading it to success in the form of the Heineken Jazz Trophy." next part soon ;) User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
