Within each person is a dark side, hidden from the world for fear that even so much as a glimpse of this secret self will frighten away those unwise enough to proceed with caution. It is this feeling, in and of alienation, that became the driving force behind Era Nocturna. The project began late in 1999 as a means of emotional exorcism when Daevina Noctem, the project's sole member, felt that the excess of "emotional detritus" had to be purged. From the opening wails of "Resurrection" off 2002's "Prelude" to the anthemic "If Only I Could" on the forthcoming "Gravity Sickness", Era Nocturna's unique and emotional sound has become a mainstay, although obscure one, in the underground electro-goth genre. At present time Era Nocturna has released two albums opening with the new wave influenced "Prelude" (2002) and then following up with a neo-classical offering entitled "De Profundis" (2006). Both albums have achieved acclaim from fans and fellow artists alike since their respective releases and Dae is working to finish up the 2008 offering of "Gravity Sickness" which is Dae's most personal album to date. In an interview Dae states, "When I wrote it I was in a much different place but now I'll be happy when it's finished. I hate and love this record all at the same time." Love it or hate it, the fans have made this the most anticipated Era Nocturna release to date.
