Future World West is home to the wonders of The Land, Journey Into Imagination with Figment, and The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Future World West only contained The Land and Journey Into Imagination when EPCOT opened in 1982. The Living Seas was added in January 1986 after going through several revisions (as all the Epcot pavilions did). Although the Journey Into Imagination pavilion was present on opening day, the ride itself was not finished. Guests could only experience The Imageworks, which was on the pavilion's second floor, until March 5th, 1983, when the actual attraction opened. The Land recieved it's first renovation in 1993/1994. It's second renovation came in January 2005. The 2005 renovation introduced Soarin' to The Land pavilion. The Living Seas remained untouched, except for the discontinuation of the SeaCabs, until August 2005. It reopened in October 2006 as The Seas with Nemo and Friends. Journey Into Imagination, as well as the rest of the pavilion, closed on October 10th, 1998. It reopened in October of 1999 as Journey Into Your Imagination. The upstairs Imageworks was shuttered and a new, less imaginative version of The Imageworks opened downstairs. Due to guest complaint, JIYI was closed in October 2001 and reopened in June 2002 as Journey Into Imagination with Figment.
