Atlanta based Envie formed in 2001 around the creative interests of Renée Nelson and Michael Overstreet. The band's lineup has shifted over the years and continues to evolve along with the music. Envie's debut is available now. (pronounced "NV") The debut full length from ENVIE is now available. Featuring a range of feverish pop songs wavering between sparse lament to full on rawk. ENVIE does not exist in a predictable musical landscape. Instruments include harp, rhodes, lap steel, foundation poles, drums, bass, piano, keys, and guitar. Press Nelson betrays a classical education as soon as she sits down at the keyboard, but she uses it to create attractive pop/rock and mainstream hard rock treatments of her melodic tunes; the harp is employed as if it were a loud acoustic guitar, and creates an unusual sonic touch… As indie bands go, Envie is surprisingly accessible, which makes the possibility of a pickup by a larger label seem likely.
