english bore is an ambient / shoegaze / electronic project from john amino (amino people / fence collective). based upon a love of a soothing drone and an ethereal guitar sound, and working around themes of repetition and melody hidden within sheets of distortion, it attempts to create lo-fi recordings for late night listening in poorly lit rooms. a soundtrack to those hours when you accidentally drank too much night-nurse. The project has also been largely collaborative, with contributions from shareef dahroug and james boast (let out enemies beware) and various members and fans of the Fence Collective. The focus of the project is on the disintegration of sound and the exploration of the melodies within micro-sound and distortion, whilst trying not to get too high brow about things.
