Hailing from the harbour city of Bristol, England, Empty Pools formed in the halcyon days of fading summer 2011. They artfully combine elements of noise rock with teen dream melodies, late ’70s CBGB’s angularity and the jazzy, world-pop sophistication of the Thrill Jockey set. The band have toured with Eleanor Friedberger and Menomena. Their debut album, Saturn Reruns, was released in November 2013 on BATTLE (Frenchkiss Label Group) and was described by the NME as “devastatingly accomplished... scuzzy, dreamy, ferocious, reckless.
