Empress Minott first name Lisa was born in the beautiful Parish of Portland Jamaica. Growing up in a home with both parents Christians, was very difficult for the Empress whose favorite Music is Reggae Empress is very multi-talented singer/songwriter/ recording artist started singing at the tender age of four and started competing at 5 yrs old. In those days Reggae and Christianity just didn't mix, she says. At an early age Empress Minott passed Common Entrance and attended Litchfield High School where she completed three terms and then migrated to Canada where she was exposed to a larger variety of music. She joined School, church and community choirs to train the unique and melodious voice that she perceives. Empress Minott has work with reggae artist such as Maxi Priest, Etana, Cocoa Tea, Morgan Heritage, Gyptian, Bush Man, and Capleton. Roy, Conrad Crystal, Sugar Minott, Trilla U, Singing Melody, Blessed, Tanya P, and many other local artists. She also performed in many places like Jamaica, Canada, and America. She also finished both videos for each song which can be found on TVJ and CVM in Jamaica and TV stations all around the world. Stumbling Blocks have been featured in a Canadian Series called “Da kink in my Hair” which was aired on Global TV on March 19, 2009. She is also nominated for the 2009 Canadian Reggae Music Award.
