Formed out of broken structures, connected and completed via the wonderful coincidences of life, Empire Escape from Berlin started out as a new band in summer 2011. After playing several shows with bands like I Like Trains, Pintandwefall or Pete & the Pirates they continued their journey of finding an identity as a band itself by traveling to the beautiful wideness of Sweden to record their first songs in Spring 2012 with Mathias Olden (Logh). With a sound which is minimalistic and basic, but complex at the same time, containing beautiful and quite catchy harmonies, they are able to create whole stories developing in the listeners mind. There’s a sentiment in this band, which is a pleasure to watch, listen to and feel whenever they play live, which still is the most important matter for Empire Escape. …Sharing their music and stories with everyone else, being on stage and being fully devoted to the moment.
