Vibey melodies and sexy song writing take center stage as Emmy Wildwood approaches dark, synth pop from a dance-punk perspective in her debut single "Chick Chick Boom (Tired Of Love)," out Jun 18 via Tiger Blanket Records. Stepping into a new realm sonically, Emmy's grunge punk past fronting rock trio VELTA still lingers in this emotional pop outfit produced by Tomek Miernowski (Darren Criss, Mos Def, Outasight). Starting with "Chick Chick Boom", Wildwood and Miernowski have crafted an array of dream pop heavy hitters for Emmy Wildwood's first solo album due out in September - all built around a 70's Linn drum Machine and lo-fi electric guitar demos cut by Wildwood herself. Seamlessly, deep chord progressions and bright vintage synth hooks bridge the gaps on each arrangement. The first single "Chick Chick Boom (Tired of Love)", is described as a cross between Robyn's "Dancing On My Own", and Stevie Nicks singing over Prince's "When You Were Mine," off his Dirty Minds LP. Vocally, Wildwood charges each song forward with a fully developed croon that's all her own- setting her apart from the rest of today's pop princesses. Her rich dynamics in warmth and vulnerability showcase themselves in her delivery as often as her bright powerful belt does, which is indicative of the wounded place from which it was evoked.
