Emma Marrone (born 25 May 1984 in Florence, Italy) is an Italian singer. Born in Florence, has always lived in Aradeo in the province of Lecce. The passion for music has been sent by his father Rosario, guitarist of a band of Aradeo "Karadreon" which started from very young (10–11 years) performing in festivals and in clubs. She graduated from Classical High School. She started her professional musical career in 2003, when she took part to the second italian edition of Popstars (renamed Superstar Tour); Emma won the talent and with Laura Pisu and Colomba Pane she formed the Lucky Star. The group released a single in 2003 called Stile. The single was released for Universal label and was good success. In 2006 the group recorded the soundtrack of the cartoon W.I.T.C.H and was released a dance album called LS3, that was a commercial failure. The group disbanded after the failure of the album. In 2009, after that she released a second album with another group, the M.J.U.R., in 2008 for Dracma Records, she took part to another talent show, Amici di Maria De Filippi, winning this competition too. In march 2010 Universal Music released her first EP, Oltre, that was very successful in Italy, peaking number one for two weeks in the Italian album chart. In the same month was released her first single too, Calore, that peaked at number one for two weeks too. The EP has been certified double platinum for its sales in Italy.
