Singer-songwriter Emily Sie was born May 20, 2002 in Jakarta, Indonesia and was raised in Surabaya. She is currently a student at the Berklee College of Music, majoring in Professional Music with Concentrations on Songwriting and Production. From a young age, Emily was exposed to music, learning multiple instruments, however her interest in them didn't last. Her real wake-up call was on June 25, 2015, when she received praise for her rendition of Jessie J's Flashlight, and soon after she began her YouTube channel. Initially, Emily gained popularity through her musical covers posted on her personal YouTube channel, especially through her K-Pop covers. Since, she has realized her passion for music, singing and performing. Through her music, Emily aims to create projects that others can relate to, by singing about her own experiences, or from taking inspiration from the experiences of those around her. On September 27, 2019, Emily released her first single, Falling For You. Since, she has released 3 other singles, including her most personal, Class of 2020, reflecting on her experiences on graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
