María Emilia Mernes, better known as Emilia, is an Argentine singer, actress and model born on October 29, 1996 in the town of Nogoyá, Entre Ríos. From a very young age she showed a great interest in music, participating in local events and contests. In 2016, Emilia, along with Fer Vázquez, joined the Uruguayan cumbia pop group, Rombai, thus making a place for herself on the scene. She decided in 2018 to leave the group to launch her solo career. In 2019, she signed with the record label WK Records and released her first solo single, “Recalienta,” in the same year. Since then, she has released several successful singles, including “No Soy Yo” with Puerto Rican Darell, “Billion,” “Policía,” among others. It would not be until 2022 that Emilia would release her first album titled Tú crees en mí?, which became popular on a large scale for singles such as “Como si no importara” with Duki, “Intoxicao” with Nicki Nicole, “rápido lento” with Tiago PZK, among other songs. In 2023, she would release her second studio album, titled .mp3, which after presenting previews of it before its release, ended up coming to light on November 2, 2023, which would be very well received due to the novel pop sounds that the album would include.
