Artist
Emile YX? has been involved in hip hop since 1982. Started as a breakdancer and during Apartheid in South Africa decided to write rhymes about what was going on in the country at that time. His first song he wrote was called Apartheid Sux. He then joined up with other old skool breakers and formed a crew called The Chill Convention who later became the now legendary Black Noise. In 2005, Emile did his first solo album called Who am I and was invited by Afrolution to feature on their compilation. Aside from Black Noise, Emile also rhymes with Angolan MC, Jamayka Poston in the crew called Conquering Lions. Emile is one of those few hip hop activities that actually do something about what they are rhyming about. He organises the African Battle Cry, African Hip Hop Indaba, Battle of he Year, South Africa. He writes books about Hip Hop, sends the best dancers to the world breakdance champs and manages Black Noise as well as the Heal the Hood Project. Emile is currently in the studio working on his new solo album that will have 15 tracks. What your words worth ...
