Artist
Emerson & Waldron was an American country music duo formed in 1967 by five-string banjo player Bill Emerson (January 22, 1938 β August 21, 2021) and guitarist Cliff Waldron (April 4, 1941 β July 1, 2024). The sound and repertoire of Emerson & Waldron was very similar to Emerson's The Country Gentlemen with the duo often performing songs from contemporary rock, soul and country. The duo released New Shades of Grass (Rebel, 1968), Bluegrass Country (Rebel, 1970), and Bluegrass Session (Rebel, 1970) before Emerson returned to The Country Gentlemen.
