We are a collective from Southeast Massachusetts consisting of Ryan Garvey, Chris Henderson, Shane Prescott, and Matt Schuman, and on occasion we feature friends who assist in layering. We hold rhythm, harmony, and texture as the most important aspects of our music, not simple hooks and expected transitions. We draw influence from a variety of popular sources including Grizzly Bear, Miles Davis, Talking Heads, King Crimson, Tortoise, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Of Montreal, and many more. Like all artists, though, we try to escape the dominance of one influence on our own compositions, in addition to attempting to not bear any relation to the products of our milieux. We hope to invoke multiple interpretations but also the emotions we personally associate with each song. We write as a collective and with that comes an equal platform for each member to contribute a skeleton that the rest can individually glue muscles and nerves to.
